Why Sail the Sporades
The Sporades are unlike any other Greek sailing destination. Dense pine forests reach the water, the sea is crystal clear, and the National Marine Park of Alonissos protects some of the most pristine waters in the Mediterranean.
Distances between islands are short - most passages are under 20 NM - making this the perfect destination for relaxed sailing. Skiathos has the beaches, Skopelos has the charm, Alonissos has the wilderness.
The Sporades are ideal for first-time charterers and families. Calm winds, short legs, and well-equipped marinas at every stop. Mamma Mia was filmed here for a reason.
When to Go
May - June
Green landscapes, calm seas, no crowds. Perfect for families and first-time sailors.
July - August
Warmest and busiest. Skiathos gets lively - book early. Winds 15-25 kn from the north.
September - October
Crowds gone, sea warm, prices down. Best months for relaxed exploring and wildlife.
